It is a sad day indeed - we left home this morning with the promise of a lovely sunrise, only to arrive in Glenwood in the pouring rain :(  With one partner away, two partners studying hard and one parter with the flu, it was decided that we would not set up in the rain and so {the thrift collection} will not be at the Food and Craft Lovers Market in Bulwer Park today - so sorry {thrifters}.   Even if it clears up, we will sadly not be there. But .... we will be doing an upload onto facebook and the blog at 8pm tonight :)

{Sunday Market} / {Sunday Upload}

Hey {Thrifters},
Just want to remind you that we will be at the Food & Craft Lovers Market in Bulwer Park, Glenwood this Sunday, from 9am to 2pm.  Pop down and say hi at this chilled venue and enjoy some delicious food and laid-back music, while you shop at {the thrift collection}. We will be continuing our {May Madness} sale at this market so you can pick up lots of lovely bargains :)
We will not be doing our usual upload of stock on Sunday night, but just might be able to upload a few pics of some lovely jerseys that we have in stock - so watch this page and our facebook page for more info :)

Remember, if you're not in the Durban area, we are very happy to pop your item(s) in the mail for an additional R25 (a little more if the parcel is heavy!).

{Thriftspiration from the UK}

Hi {thrifters},

Ash here... I can't believe I've been home from my trip to the UK for 10 days already. Sorry about the delayed update but Matric is definitely restricting my {thrift collection} time... Forgive me.

In terms of thrifty-ness and thriftspiration, the UK has an abundance of it! I spent two days in Brighton, which has become known as "London-by-the-sea-side".  I was blown away by the little alley ways and streets with thrift shops by the dozen, but even more so by the support and popularity of all things retro, vintage and thrifty. The thing that grabbed my attention the most when it came to the Thrift Stores, THEIR PRICES!! Not. Cheap. At. All! It made me so grateful that we could offer our customers items at a far better price. (Be grateful! haha)

United Kingdom, {The Thrift Collection} is coming!

Good evening, wonderful-Thrift-Collection-followers!  

I hope you're all looking forward to some time off work over this long weekend! I know the 4 of us most definitely are.  In fact, I'm currently sitting on a plane, waiting to depart so that I can start counting down the hours until I arrive in London...  

 You may be wondering why I'm traveling in the middle of term? Well, I'm off to attend interviews at different universities! It's all very exciting, even for you guys! Because while I'm there I hope to find as many British thrift stores as possible :) I'll be taking photos & pick up some tips on how to improve our very own, original, Durban thrift store!  

 Keep an eye out for updates and pretty things from the leading land of thrift.

{Holidays}

Good afternoon {Thrifters}!

So while only one of us is on holiday this week, we hope those of you on holiday are having a great one so far, and we wish those of you at work or school luck with the rest of the week before Easter.  We are both lucky enough to have something very exciting to look forward to next week! That's right, Splashy Fen :)

Fear not lovely friends, {The Thrift Collection} will still be at the iHeart Market on the 7th of April, except this month the stall will be run by our wonderful Mama Bears.  Its Ash's first time at Splashy so if any of you have any helpful tips or funny stories from the festival, feel free to post a comment below :) we know we will have an incredible time, and we hope to see lots of you there!
